Mount Carmel St. Ann's Women's Auxiliary Council (WAC)
Helping Mothers and Babies Thrive
History of the Women’s Auxiliary Council
The new Mount Carmel St. Ann’s Women’s Auxiliary Council was founded in May 2013 by faith based women leaders in our community who are dedicated to following in the footsteps of the hundreds of women who have served the mission of Mount Carmel St. Ann’s hospital since 1908.
Mount Carmel St. Ann’s has a fascinating history of women’s auxiliaries, dating back to the early 1900s when the Sisters of St. Francis came down from Stella Niagara, New York to open St. Ann’s Infant Asylum and Home for Unwed Mothers on Bryden Road in 1908.
The first St. Ann’s Guild was formed in November 1908 to support the charitable works of the Sisters and help the Sisters care for the children. Many Guilds were formed over the years, and this tradition of women’s service to St. Ann’s continued when the hospital moved to Westerville in 1984.

Who We Are Today
We are a group of women whose mission is to provide compassionate, Christ-centered support to Mount Carmel St. Ann’s and the communities it serves.
We raise funds to support critical needs of the hospital through several annual fundraising projects and events. It is our goal that members actively participate and foster these projects and events into wonderful traditions.
- Fundraising - Our primary focus is to support mothers and babies. Our main fundraiser is a Signature Speaking Event held each Fall at Mount Carmel St. Ann's. Money raised during this event is used to support more than 400 mothers who visit the new Mount Carmel Breastfeeding Center located at St. Ann's each year.
- Fellowship - In addition to supporting the mothers and babies, our members enjoy quarterly meetings supporting a local business at a fun event. We've had dinner at the Dublin Arts Council, The Spa at River Ridge, La Scala, and The Kitchen. We also enjoy multiple day retreat trips, half day field trips, and enrichment seminars.
We would love to have you become a member of our auxiliary. Please complete the membership form and submit it, along with your dues to:

Please contact one of our Co-Presidents at any time. We look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you may have.
