Here are some statistics of note on the state of nursing:

The average age of today’s nurse and nurse educator is 47.
By 2009, the need for nurses will grow by 21%.
40% of the current nursing work force will retire in the next 10 years.
Nursing licensure has decreased by 38% in the past six years.

As these numbers show, there has never been a greater need for nurses or nursing education, which makes the support the Mount Carmel Foundation provides to the Mount Carmel College of Nursing more imperative than ever.

Mount Carmel College of Nursing is one of the largest nursing programs in the state of Ohio. Enrollment has grown more than 80% over the past five year. With that growth has come an increasing need to provide qualifying students with financial aid and scholarships. Over 85% of the Mount Carmel College of Nursing student body receives either federal aid or financial aid/scholarships awarded by the College. In 2008, more than 200 students received almost $450,000 in aid from the College. That aid came through the philanthropic support of the Mount Carmel Foundation.
