Countless men, women and children in central Ohio go without much-needed health care because they lack insurance, are faced with a language barrier or are homeless and cannot get access to much-needed resources. Mount Carmel’s Community Outreach program reaches out to these people – 13,000 annually to be exact – to provide them health care services.

Two outreach programs have had a significant impact in helping the underserved over the past 10 years — Help Me Grow and the Mobile Medical Coach. Help Me Grow reaches out to children, especially those at risk for developmental delay, to give them a healthy start at life. The Mobile Medical Coach is a doctor’s office on wheels that travels to nine regular sites around the city, providing free medical care and social services to the most vulnerable in our community.

Mount Carmel’s Community Outreach program is funded solely by grants and unrestricted dollars from Mount Carmel Foundation. The Foundation allocates hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to purchase medications and supplies, fuel and upkeep for the Coach and salaries for the dedicated nurses and physicians with the program. Your donation to the Mount Carmel Foundation can provide a health care safety net for those in our community who need it most. Please consider making a secure online gift to the Mount Carmel Foundation today and earmarking it for Community Outreach.
