Meet Julianna (age 9). A few weeks ago, her and her best friend made a bunch of friendship bracelets with some yarn that they purchased from the local craft store. In that young entrepreneurial spirit, they decided to go around the neighborhood and try to sell them in the hopes of making a few extra bucks. With a grand total of $13, they decided to split the take. When Julianna got home that evening after beating the pavement and busting on doors, she went to her Mom and gave her the portion of the profits - $6.50. Julianna told her Mom "I want daddy to give it to the Mount Carmel West because people in the hospital deserve miracles too."

"This has touched my heart in a way that I can’t explain", says Mike Newbery, Julianna’s father and Nurse Manager at Mount Carmel West. "As we talked to her about sacrifice and the help of others, I am never quite sure if this is received in the manner that we always hope for in our kids. Well, I am reassured that it does."
