Since 2008, hundreds of women with breast cancer have received: “The Gift of Grace.” Mount Carmel’s Grace Bear is symbolic of our mission for excellence in service and caring, linking our Mount Carmel Comprehensive Breast Cancer Program with women and their families who have been diagnosed with breast cancer. We use the name Grace to represent:

• G - Guidance for all our breast cancer patients
• R - Respect for all those in our care
• A - Advocacy with our presence and ongoing support throughout all aspects of breast cancer care and survivorship
• C - Compassion, caring, and comfort for all those we serve
• E - Excellence in all aspects of the care we provide

Grace has become the goodwill ambassador for our Mount Carmel Women’s Health Centers. Grace helps our patients feel comforted and safe while raising awareness for the role of the Breast Health Nurse Navigator. The Nurse Navigator uses Grace to promote the role of confidant, listener, and non-judgmental friendship. Grace was chosen for her therapeutic role for chest and arm support after surgery. Survivors, family members and friends may choose to sponsor a bear honoring a survivor or in memory of a loved one. These ongoing donations allow “The Gift of Grace” to continue.
