Sr. Barbara Hahl
Sr. Barbara Hahl is the Mount Carmel Health System Senior Vice President for System Mission and a 50-year tenured associate.
Sister’s overall responsibility is for the spiritual health and wellness of the entire Mount Carmel Health System including Mission Services, Spiritual Care Services and Outreach.
Sister Barbara spent fifteen years as a teacher and principal in elementary schools in Illinois and Indiana. She has spent over thirty years in hospitals in Utah, Indiana and Ohio. Previous jobs have been management engineer, planner, manager of medical records, and assistant administrator at Mount Carmel East Hospital for both clinical and non-clinical services. Sister acted as interim COO at MCE for nine months, then developed and ran all outside businesses for Mount Carmel Health for ten years.
Sister Barbara received her bachelor’s degree from St Mary’s Notre Dame and a Master’s degree from Indiana University. She received an additional Master’s degree in administration from the University of Notre Dame.
Sister currently serves on the boards of several local organizations including Catholic Social Services, the Franklinton Development Association and the Affordable Housing Trust.
Sister Barbara serves on the Foundation’s Finance and Allocations Committees. She has a reserved seat on the Foundation Board.
